What it involves
An implant is a titanium screw that integrates into the bone and takes the place of the root.
A crown, bridge or denture is then placed on top, depending on how many teeth need replacing.
The process has two phases separated in time: placing the implant and, once integrated, the restoration.

- Requires sufficient bone volume and quality; where these are lacking, prior regeneration is considered.
- Requires gum health: active periodontal disease is treated first.
