Travelling for dental treatment requires planning in a different order from usual: diagnosis first, dates afterwards.

Before booking flights

Send photographs of your smile, recent radiographs if you have them, and a description of what you want to change. With that, the case can be assessed remotely and its scope estimated.

Booking flights before having that guidance is the most common mistake: if the treatment requires phases separated in time, the dates change.

How appointments are grouped

For patients who travel, in-person appointments are grouped to reduce the number of trips. How many days you need depends on the treatment; it is estimated after the initial consultation and always as guidance, not a commitment.

Ask about follow-up

This is the part people forget. It is worth agreeing before travelling how remote follow-up will work and what to do if something comes up once you are back home.
